Wedding ring help
I have my engagement ring and semi-matching band, but I never got a matching ring to DH. I realized I wanted one, so we went to the jeweler where we got his, and she quoted us a price.
My ring size is 4 3/4. The lady at the store said that since my DH's ring has a design on the edges all the way around, it can't be sized to a 4 3/4. I have to either get a 4 1/2 or a 5. My fingers tend to swell and shrink a lot. So with the 4 3/4, my rings are semi loose in the winter, and snug in the summer.
Should I get a 4 1/2 or a 5 for my matching ring? It's Which is worse? Slightly snugger or slightly looser? I plan to wear my main set mostly, and the matching one occasionally. What do you think?

Re: Wedding ring help
I would get one that is looser. You can always put a ring guard on it.

Yeah, and it may come in handy down the line when I get pregnant.

Re: Wedding ring help
I would go with the 5 and use a ring guard when necessary, as the PP suggested.
Do you plan to wear your e-ring in front of it? That might also help keep it in place.

Probably not, just the band because it is thicker than my current wedding band.
I wonder if a thicker band is easier to keep in place.

Re: Wedding ring help
In my engagement ring and my wedding band, I have this extra piece of platinum that is attached to the ring on one side so the other side moves with the changes in my finger. I would suggest getting the 5 and having that piece put on it. It's not like a ring guard where you can see the piece. You wouldn't even know I had it unless I took the ring off in front of you.

Re: Wedding ring help
Go the size larger. You are more likely to swell then to get smaller. (heat, salty foods, etc) As long as it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall off I’m more comfortable with it a little bigger then to be snug and have to jam it on and off….

Re: Wedding ring help
i agree you should go larger!
my mom has a copy of my dad's band, as well as one that matches her e-ring. sometimes she wears it in the middle. if you did something like that -- the e-ring might hold it on even when it might be loose.
