We went!
I left here at 11 yesterday morning, and we went to our local station. The scheduled train just WASN'T RUNNING at all. Okkkkk, so we got back in the car and faced our 2 choices - go home, OR try to make it to Huntington for the next train! We opted for the Huntington option, and the roads were TERRIBLE  - my heart was pounding the whole way, and the "traction active" light on the dashboard never went off! We were slipping all over the place. We made it to Huntington to find out that the train there was ON TIME, and had left already.
We hung out at the Huntington station for the next train - we would've JUST made it in time for the 2pm show if we caught that train.....but of course, it was 45 MINUTES LATE. Once it showed up, we got on the train, it pulled out of the station, then pulled back INTO the station!!! They needed to change tracks. There was MASS CONFUSION on the LIRR yesterday - what a bunch of morons, let me tell you.
I called the theatre box office, really upset, and explained our situation. We were holding 2pm show tix, and it was already 1:45 and we were still stuck on the LIRR. A really nice woman at the box office told us to come by the box office when we made it in, and she'd exchange the tix for the 7pm show. She was GREAT!
Soooo...The train is going, fine, no problems, then they announce that Jamaica is the end of the road. Nothing in and out of Penn.   Sooooo we have to take the E train into Manhattan. 50 minutes later, we got off at Port Authority, and ran to the box office.
We grabbed something to eat, played around in ESPN zone, had a snowball fight in the dark in Times Sq, and just had a great time.
We finally went to the theatre...and that woman at the box office hooked us UP! She moved us from Orchestra Right, in the middle of the row, to 3rd ROW, right on the left aisle. We were close enough to get spit on.  For those of you that have seen Rent, we were in prime "azz viewing territory". Rich wasn't expecting that, and I think he almost fell off his chair  .
Trains still weren't running in/out of Penn when we left, so again, we had to take the E to Jamaica LIRR station. When we got THERE, we were told that the trains weren't running on any kind of schedule - 1 train from each branch was coming approximately every 2 hours. 
We FINALLY made it home about 2am - but we had a great time 
Rich got a call at 8pm that his school is CLOSED today, so he didn't even have to be up early this morning. Everything worked out - I'm glad we had the balls to go!

lol - we had a snowball fight IN TIMES SQUARE - then, when we got home, I found a news story that 4 people were severely shocked from the metal plates in Times Sq! I couldn't believe that - I didn't see any police activity?
