We have a closing date!!!! With another nice story...
Finally!
Well, it took a normal amount of time, really. It just felt like a long time! I just got the call from my lawyer... Thursday April 1st @ 10am 
I can't even believe it --- this is literally four years in the making!
The most amazing thing about the person we're buying the condo from: she is a Saint! I was driving home from work when I got the call from my lawyer. That put the condo on my brain so I wanted to drive by  I'm excited! They are putting in a new gate so I wanted to see how that was progressing. Anywho, I ran into Joyce (the lady who is selling us the condo). She was walking her little dog.
I stopped and she said, oh come and look at the place - I'll take you in, I just had it cleaned.  She had her cleaning lady clean the whole thing top to bottom!!! AND she left us a second fridge in the garage, her really nice garbage cans with wheels on them that are stamped our house #, extra paint, extra tiles, shelving, extra carpet -- even extra glass pieces for our light fixture!! Then she left nice decorative pots to put flowers in, metal tiki torches, solar lights, etc!
We went inside to look around and the place was SPOTLESS. I thanked her a hundred times - she is so nice. She left us the books on all the appliances, the fireplace, everything. She left us a list of all our neighbors and their names/#'s. Then, she opens the fridge and there's two flutes and a bottle of champagne!!!! She said it was a surprise for us when we closed but she couldn't resist and had to tell us now! 
So, we HAVE to get this lady a gift. What do you think we should get her? A manicure/pedicure to the nice salon across the street from our complex?? That with flowers and a nice thank you card?? What do you guys think?
How lucky are we? I wish all sellers could be like her. AND she lives in our community now so it's awesome that she will be near us!

that is sooooo sweet of her to do for you and congrats on the closing date!!!!!
i think a lady like that would appreciate any thing you gave her
i personally love flowers and a thoughtful card but that is just me....
did she have her nails done when you saw her?? if so then maybe a gc to the salon
another thought is something from edible arrangements is always nice too

or you can find out who her cleaning lady is and pay for her house's next cleaning. Is she still living in the apt you're buying or did she move into her new apt yet? My plan only works if she moved out.

She keeps herself so nice -- and yes, manicured nails.
I figured, who wouldn't enjoy a mani/pedi - especially when the really nice spa is right across the street.
Edible Arrangements is a great idea too!

SO FREAKING RARE!!!
I thought the same thing, considering I helped a friend buy his condo and the whole ordeal was a NIGHTMARE with horrible, greedy people.

Oh I had posted about the story before - you may have missed that post. See, she lives in her own Townhome within the complex. She met and married the man who owned the Townhome we are moving in (right down the street). They met there, in the community - later in life. They got married and were living in her place and renovated his top to bottom. Even though it was only built in 2001, they put a ton of stuff into it - all so nice. They picked everything together. It took about 8 months and then, suddenly, he got sick and passed away. She was so sad that she put his place up, all renovated - never lived in - because it was too upsetting for her to live there. She walked us through to show us the place in TEARS! 
So, she lives right down the road in our complex in her own Townhome.
But, yes, she gets her home cleaned by this lady so that is a great idea! Very personal and thoughtful, I think!
