we got an offer on our house!!
We got a decent offer on our house yesterday...and according to our realtor we have another offer coming in tonight!!!
It's only been on the market for 5 weeks so I am feeling pretty darn lucky, considering what time of year it is. 
We closed on our new house last week, and I am just SO grateful that we won't be carrying two mortgages for much longer!! Phew.
The offer is only $5,000 below asking, plus they want another $5,000 at closing. They don't have a house to sell, and they can move in asap.
We're waiting for the other offer to come in before making any decisions.  YAY!

LOL, you are not ignorant, I have no clue either.
I think it's because they don't have the cash available to cover the closing costs. But can't they get a mortgage to cover that?
I am totally clueless when it comes to this stuff. Anyone know???

It's a sellers concession..as long as your get your money you are saying it's ok that they are financing it instead of asking for it up front.
