We are the worst! Sleeping issues...

So last week I move Josh into his own room. All is fine, the first 2 nights..Josh is out of it, sound asleep in his crib.

I don't know what was going on with me, but I could not bring myself to go to bed, so I would stay up till 3 cleaning and doing laundry, waiting for Leo to come home from work.

We would go to sleep, the second a peep would come from the monitor, we both would jump up and room to baby's room. Leo missed him so much and I was just ready to be with him again.

Night 3, I wake up, Leo is sleeping in baby's room. So then I slept in baby's room with them. Night 4, we all slept in baby's room again.

So, we moved baby back in with us. Chat Icon I can't describe what was going on, we really just missed him.

I miss my kids when they're in a different room. DS is 6 months and we love having him in bed with us. Chat Icon

Janice I'm sorryChat Icon Chat Icon I put Hannah in her own room from day 1. I do miss her when she sleeps, but at the same time I love sleeping without worrying I'm going to wake her or hearing every little peep.

You guys will adjust!!! Take your time and do what feels comfortableChat Icon

If you aren't ready for him to be in his own room...don't do it!

We had Noah in with us until he was six months old. I think thats the guidelines for SIDS Safety here anyway

I agree. We just moved Lily into her room last week. We did it kinda gradually because we had my sister & her family sleeping in our room so DH & I slept in Lily's room for the first 5 nights. The first night back in our room without her was weird. And I know next week when DH is away for work again will be sad for me. I'll probably end up back in her room again. Part of me liked getting our room "back." I could watch TV in bed again. That was nice. But it is a pain to have to go into her room every time I have to feed her (usually 2-3 times a night still Chat Icon ) It was easier to have her right next to me for that.

I agree that you should do what feels comfortable. I doubt he'll still be sleeping in your room when he's in high school Chat Icon so I think you should move him into his room when you feel the time is right.

Aww, it's hard, and it's an adjustment, but you will eventually do it. If you're not ready now, you're not ready. We slept in the same room with Ava until she was 8.5 months, and I STILL miss being right next to her. But when she wasn't sleeping well with the noise we make from tossing and turning, snoring, etc, we had no other option but to move. You'll do it when you're ready. Chat Icon
