We Are Pulling Our Co-Op Off the Market...
And I have to say, I feel good about this decision. We told our realtor two more weeks, and then we want to pull it.
It's been for sale for almost a year, and while we switched realtors, lowered our price several times, purchased a storage unit to remove some clutter, nothing seems to be helping. Lately, we have had a string of offers that last about a day, and eventhough we know we shouldn't get our hopes up, it's hard not to do so. Also, a year of cleaning up and having people walk through here constantly is getting to both of us. We're getting very resentful of the potential buyers, and it's hard not to take what they say or do personally at this point.
We're also having problems with the house we are purchasing, and we're having a baby, and the stress of all of these things plus the normal work/day-to-day stuff just became too much. The one source of stress that we can delay is the co-op.
So, we'll take it off for the summer. We will approach our co-op board about renting it and see what they say. Then we can decide if we just want to rent it a couple years or try to sell it ourselves or with another agent. I'm leaning toward renting, but we'll see what happens.

Re: We Are Pulling Our Co-Op Off the Market...
I totally understand. We had our house on the market for 7 months, with NO realistic offers. We also had a baby on the way and the stress was starting to really wear on us. Thankfully we weren't locked into any contracts.
The day we pulled it off the market, some guy came in with a real offer (I suppose it lit a fire under his @ss ) and we wound up selling.
Home selling sucks in this market.
Good luck- you made the right decision I think.

you're in Great Neck Terrace right? I'm so surprised you can't sell, I sold mine in less than 2 weeks but that was 2 years ago, big difference in the market I guess... Such a great location too...

Yup, Great Neck Terrace. A lot of apartments haven't been selling well lately--some have been bought here, but I have some neighbors who pulled theirs off the market also.
It is a different market--I remember things used to sell so quickly here. Different times.
Thanks for your well wishes! We'll do something with this eventually, I'm just not sure what yet.
