We are going to Bermuda! Give me suggestions!

Hi, DH and I are going to Bermuda. What are the things we must do/see? I've done some research and it looks like the aquarium seems fun, we are going snorkeling again, and of course the beaches. Anything else we should put on our agenda? Thanks!Chat Icon

beautiful beach!!

what area are you going to? are you cruising or flying there?

Hamilton was a great area, we enjoyed the festival they have on wednesday nights. also great shops.

we also went to st. george, oldest part of the island. there are some nice bars/restaurants.

tobacco beach has great snorkeling right along the rocks, all you need to do is bring your own snorkel and mask. (you can rent also)

the frog and onion was a fun place to go to at night bc our cruise ship was docked right there. we went there when the ferrys stopped running for the night.

any other questions FM me! we just went the first week of june and had a great time. Bermuda is my favorite island.

Hi! We are cruising there, one day in St. Georges and the rest in Hamilton. We heard about the festival on Wednesdays, it sounds great!
Do you know what the ferry costs? Did you take the bus around?
Is the frog and onion a restaurant? What kind of food do they have? Thanks!

our ship was docked at kings wharf, really no reason to go there. the frog and onion was a restaurant/bar near the dock. not too much going on in kings wharf except the rum cake factory which isnt a huge deal.

we took the ferry mostly, we bought a 3 day pass. i dont remember how much it was though.. not too expensive though.

we took the bus to horseshoe bay beach. its very easy to navigate the island and the natives are so pleasant and helpful. just go to the tourist stand (right when you get off your ship) and pick up a bus schedule and ferry schedule.

Rent scooters and drive around the island. It is so safe and so beautiful and you can stop off at any little spot you like. DH and I did this one day and we had a blast.

The best beach ever! That's all I wanted to do everyday, was go back there and go in water.

We are going on a cruise there later this month. Which ship are you going on?

We are going with our girls and family so what we would do would be somewhat different. But I noticed you mentioned the aquarium. Have you considered the Crystal Caves? I heard that the caves were fun too.

I have a ferry schedule somewhere - it is pretty cheap I want to say something like $25 for a 3 day pass but I could be wrong.

If you go to the island's tourism page they will mail you some info and I think it includes a ferry schedule.

Also, there is a local beach that I loved. The locals go there and if you ask someone they will definitely be able to tell you how to get there. It is called Jobson's Cove. There are no amenities like the other beaches, but it is worth it!!!

I sent away for it, thank you! So far the reviews I am reading are good, it is a smaller ship, and an older crowd, but we don't have kids so I don't mind that. The food is supposed to be amazing, and they have this culinary arts studio where you can watch demos that looks really interesting. I will let you know how it is, and let me know about Celebrity, they are supposed to be great too! Chat Icon

What would you like to know about Celebrity - I have gone about 11 times with them in the past, 1 time on NCL and 2 times on Princess. This will be my 12th cruise with Celebrity - but our 1st with the girls and 1st to Bermuda (have done one mediterrean and the rest Caribbean cruises).

They are "supposed" to have the best food of the mass market lines - but honestly if you are used to good NYC restaurants it is more like very good catering food. There service is very good - champagne when you get on, cold towels when you get back on the ship etc. HA is supposed to have an older crowd to Celebrity - but Celebrity also has an "older" crowd - but we have always had a good time. It just isn't the party crowd that you find on say Carnival or RCCL (not that there is anything wrong with them they are just different).

I think with most it really depends on what you are looking for in general.

Hope you have an amazing trip!

We don't want a party crowd, lol. We pretty much like keeping to ourselves, relaxing, so I think this will be perfect. Which Mediterranean cruise did you do? We did Italy, France and Spain 3 years ago and it was the best vacation.

I did with family a long time ago (back in the 90's) I can't remember the line but it was one of those 5 star (not mass market ones). It was around to various Greek islands.
