We are closing tomorrow and I have more questions - HELP!
OK, I called LIPA last week and they said we have to go there to open our account. Since our house is a short sale, the owners have an outstanding bill so we need to show them the title in our name.
My questions:
1. Which cable do you have or recommend?
2. I have no idea how much oil is in the tank. What do we do? Who do we call?
3. Do I have to contact the water company?
This is all so new to me

1) We have Optimum Triple Play. I like it a lot.
2) The previous owners should know how much is in the tank. You pay them for the amount of oil left in the tank at closing.
3) Contact the water company to make sure they know that you're taking possession of the house. I don't think they'll shut your water off, so don't panic about that.

triple play
not sure with the oil
yes call water they turn the accounts on with in a day or two (they do a reading)

we did not and could not pay the sellers for whatever oil was in the tank; it was a short sale
