Waterproofing
Does anyone know anything about waterproofing? When the rain comes, our house get some major leaks

Easiest thing to do is check the gutter downspouts. If you don't have extenders that go out several feet from the foundation, there's a good chance it's coming from there. Also, does the ground slope away from the basement? Any time it slopes towards the house, or there's no slope, water will get in easier.

I can tell you from my experience. During the rain store we had over a foot of water in our basement. We had a company saying he would have to dig around the house and seal the walls that way ($8000). We had a contractor come just to tell us our gutters and grading were fine. We had a waterproofing company come and mentioned french drain. Finally a family friend come, who does construction, and said get a sump pump.
