Washington D.C.
Besides the Smithsonian Museums and the Monuments / White House, what else is there to do in D.C?
Give me some suggestions for a weekend visit!

Re: Washington D.C.
I love walking around Georgetown.
National Archive & Library of Congress both have some cool things on display.
The MLK Jr. memorial is opening at the end of the month.
The Holocaust Memorial Museum is incredibly moving.
The National Cathedral is beautiful, the gargoyle tour is supposed to be fun.
I always find the Vietnam Vets Memorial to be very moving.
Both of my grandfathers (and all my great uncles) served in WWII so that memorial means a lot to me.
DH wants to check out the Spy Museum the next time we go.
I want to check out the Newseum.
HTH!

Re: Washington D.C.
The Spy museaum was cool. We took a geek tour bus and it was great - got on/off as we pleased. The Metro was really good too (train/subway)
I had the best meal ever at La Tasca in Alexandria - its a tapas place - you can take the metro and then the trolly (its just a converted bus w/ wooden seats)
