Washing baby clothes

I am washing baby clothes and they are not drying. I have the dryer set on low and delicate. Each delicate cycle is 20 minutes and I have done it twice so far. There is a dryness option, more dry, normal, less dry or damp. I originally had it on less dry. I changed it to normal this cycle...do you think it will work?

Am I doing something wrong?

Wow, I just added another 20 minutes. The normal dry is helping a little but this is going to take a lot longer then I expected.

Do they have to be done on low heat?

its the low heat setting. the first load i ever washed took hours to dry. so i started doing smaller loads on the low heat setting and it only takes an hour or less to dry.

I put it on medium now it's just taking so long. I am going to check every 10 minutes.

Re: Washing baby clothes

I've never washed my son's clothes on low heat- I never heard of it actually! I've always just dried them the same way I dry our clothes. Never had any problems!

Re: Washing baby clothes

Why would you dry them on low?
Is that a requirement?
I feel so lost.

All of the tags on the clothes say tumble dry low. I was scared they would shrink. I changed the dryness to normal instead of low and that seems to be helping a lot.

Oh, ok. I thought I was missing something. I never read the labels.

I never read labels either but someone told me to for the baby stuff so I did and EVERYTHING says low heat. Even sheets and towels! It took FOREVER! I think the next time, I'll take my chances with shrinking.

Re: Washing baby clothes

Everything says tumble dry low. I have never done anything different for any of my clothing or fabrics. All get hot more dry setting or I line dry when the weather is 55 and sunny and up.

I tumble dry everything (including our clothes) on low heat. I have had stuff shrink before so I don't take chances Chat Icon If it's a big load I usually have to dry it 1.5 times. I try to do smaller loads so it doesn't take as long. I never had any baby clothes shrink this way, with the exception of Gerber onsies (they always shrink!) but I prefer Carter's onsies anyway!
