Washer/Dryer in Unfinished Basement
I am getting a new washer and dryer this weekend and I have an unfinished basement. Wondered how I could make it look nicer and if anyone else has done something like maybe a nice rug or something. Pics if possible. Thanks

I don't know if I would put a rug in case of leaks. Which ones are you getting?

Maybe take some extra carpet or a cheap rug it should be fine. You want something there on the floor b/c clothes fall on the floor when doing laundry. Last house the laundry area wasn't finished so we bought some cheap shelves from Home Depot and put it in the area to leave the detergent, etc.

We ordered the pedestal's which have the drawers for that but that is a great idea if we didn't.

Re: Washer/Dryer in Unfinished Basement
i bought a cheap area rug from Bed Bath and Beyond and put it down in front of the washer and dryer. My laundry area already has some shelves but i am thinking about getting a few upper cabinets to put in as well.

Re: Washer/Dryer in Unfinished Basement
I don't have pictures of it, but I attempted the same thing.
We have the Whirlpool Cabrio top-loading so no pedestals, but I put one of those white rubbermaid things that has the three drawers and is on wheels next to it, with a basket on top of it to hold the stuff I access the most. Then I got an outdoor/patio rug from Target (so moisture isn't an issue) to put in front of them that matches the curtains we have over the windows down there and the cover on the ironing board.
Someday I hope to have a real laundry room!

Thanks guys!!! I would love a "real" laundry room too but don't have the money to finish the basement right now.

Re: Washer/Dryer in Unfinished Basement
We have a "laundry" rug in front of the washer and dryer. It helps when I'm doing the transfer and an errant sock will fall to the floor. Instead of landing on dusty concrete, it lands on the rug.

This pic is from the Solutions website but I believe we got ours from lowes for $14, not $24....

Re: Washer/Dryer in Unfinished Basement
i ahve a rug that go along my washer and dryer from lillian vernon that is the same idea as laundry rug
and it's perfect to keep clean clothes clean instead of falling on the cement in the basement during transfer
