Wantagh but Levittown SD?
My house hunting search continues... I saw a house that was really nice and reasonably priced in Wantagh but in the Levittown SD. I know that Wantagh schools are supposed to be good, but i'm not too familiar w/ Levittown schools, can anyone who knows about this SD shed any light? I want to know if its worth buying in this SD. I believe the HS is MacArthur. Thank you!

Levittown SD with MacArthur is good. Probably doesn't have the "name" that Wantagh SD has, but it's definitely a decent SD. Wantagh SD houses come at a price and it's debatable whether the price is worth it.
I pass by there a lot. I see the high schoolers out in the field practicing and such at MacArthur. They look like good kids to me.
The big difference between the two SDs IMO is the size. Levittown SD is pretty large. Wantagh SD is very small.

We just bought in Wantagh with Levittown Schools.. McArthur.. so far so good, we LOVE the area! We dont have children yet, but I've heard its a pretty decent SD.

Salk Macarthur schools are excellent. They have one of the top special ed departments. We live in Levittown and Danielle is a teacher at the Middle School (Salk).

We're moving to Wantagh / Levittown school district in a couple of months. It's a great neighborhood, reasonably priced, with few houses for sale so I feel lucky to have "gotten in"!

Levittown is extremely undervalued right now IMO. There are large houses selling in the low 300s.
Excellent value for the money IMO, especially with today's low interest rates.

we live in wantagh, levittown SD and love the area. i grew up around here. my sis and bro both went to salk/mac arthur and got a great education and were involved in alot of extra curricular activities.

I grew up in Levittown and attended Salk/MacArthur. They are both great schools (IMO). I was involved with a lot of activities and did well after high school.

i grew up there (levittown- salk / macarthur schools) and moving to Wantagh / same schools.
right now DD goes to gardiners (K) and when we move to the duckpond area, she will go to lee road, which i am super psyched about b/c it's soooo small. for my kid, i think it'll be good.
High schoolers don't look like *we* did when we were there.
i will be Dava's neighbor.
hey - the house next door to the one i am buying is back on the market again...

Abbey Lane is a good school! Check it out: Abbey Lane
From what I know, some Abbey Lane kids go to Salk/Macarthur and some go to Wisdom/Division. You'd have to call the school district or just ask some neighbors to see where your house falls. People really talk up Salk / Macarthur but when you look at the test scores and the programs available at both, on paper they're very similar.

He will be going to Division Ave (right behind the flea market) which is not a bad school at all. For middle he will go to Wisdom and as you know Abbey for elementary. I went to all 3 schools and in my opinion they are in an excellent school district and I had great teachers. I grew up in Levittown and still live in Levittown today over by Hicksville. But I used to live right behind the funeral home years ago close to where your moving to now. Don't worry about what your hearing you are in one of the best districts there is.
