Want to get a Wii....what are the essentials?
I am going to get my stepdaughter a Wii for her 12th birthday. Secretly...I want the Wii fit for myself, but that's not why I'm buying it for her  
Anyway...I have no clue about video games...the last one I played was Atari! So...what are the essentials I need to buy to get started? What about games? Please help me....thanks!

Well they have the package that comes withthe system, 1 remote, 1 nunchuck, and the sports game that has like 5 different sports. I would definately get another remote and nunchuck if other poeple are going to play with her. As far as games go...TI depends on what she is into. There are so many games out there for wii.

definitely need the extra remote/nunchuck. You might also want to look into getting the rubber covers for the remotes if she'll be toting them around to friends' houses.
In terms of games? if you buy the bundle with the sports, its pretty good and can be played for a while before having to get another game. I also like Sonic Olympics because there are a ton of sports, mini games, practices etc. You can play in teams or by yourself, and the sports are different than the regular WiiSports (i.e. they have gymnastics, fencing etc.)
