Walking = Sleep Disruption??
i read in a baby center email that when a baby starts trying to walk that their sleep can be disrupted, because they want to, go, go, go....
has this happened to anyone else?
this is the 2nd time this week that Em has gone to sleep for the night & woken up a few hours later, thinking that it's TIME TO PARTY!! The first time, she went to bed WAY early for her, so i thought that was why...but last night, she went down at her normal time (11:00'ish) and woke up at 2:00 and boy was she UP...
the 1st time i was able to put on a movie and she just watched it, dozing off sometimes, etc. This time, she was ALL over Dave & I (while HE SLEPT )....and was just going NUTS for 4 hours... She didn't go back to bed until just about 5. I tried several times to shut off the tv, turn on the sound machine and give her a bottle, but it never worked....she cry hysterically!
i missed a day of work last week (worked from home) because of the lack of sleep and today - i'm a zombie.... please tell me this is going to END at some point.. she has JUST started taking steps, but nothing regular....

Hopefully it was just a fluke and she will go back to her normal self. Could be walking realted, but am thinking not.

didn't happen to us (only when he learned to stand up at 7 months or so). Maybe teething? Hope it passes soon!

Re: Walking = Sleep Disruption??
yes! well, for us it was probably a few things. DD had an ear infections and on the meds, she didn't sleep well. the day before she was due to end her meds, she took her first steps!! then, for the next 2/3 days it was rough...up in the middle of the night, needing bottle/water, and then up early, one nap all week. Finally she STTN again the past 2 nights, and she has been standing a lot more and taking more and more steps throughout the day more often.
And I read the same thing. Hopefully it will pass soon!

Re: Walking = Sleep Disruption??
i am going to say no...but what do i know? didn't affect my DS in that way nor my DD...but you might want to watch what you are doing in the middle of the night if you are worried about being a zombie or tired b.c if you are entertaining your DD she very well might start looking for that on a regular basis. if you have to work etc. that is not going to be good for YOU! she can conk out at 5am or take naps but you might suffer....i know you don't want to ignore her etc. but i would keep it very low key and try to make it clear that nighttime is for sleep-not tv or playing etc. but if she goes back to normal then you don't have a problem. hope she sttn again for you soon!

very good point about getting her used to that! we did try for at least a half hour to get her back to sleep, but the hysterics led me to put the movie on...
i still haven't recovered from saturday!!!
