Waking up Hungry?

I am 11 weeks and haven't had morning sickness aside from some nausea during this pregnancy.

This week I went back to my early mornings since I babysit a teacher's daughter, and so I'm up at 5:30am, and I am finding myself SO hungry when I wake up.

Am I confusing slight nausea for hungry?

I feel like I need to eat breakfast right away in the morning but then I'm hungry way before lunch!

This is just strange for me, I'm used to being able to go until 8:30-9am without breakfast!

Re: Waking up Hungry?

In the beginning I remember waking up in the middle of the night hungry. Maybe have a snack before bed? I know with the GD they want me to have a protein snack before bed to help keep my numbers even.

Re: Waking up Hungry?

Try a snack before bed like a PP mentioned. Also, have a snack, like a banana or something in between breakfast and lunch.

Re: Waking up Hungry?

I used to find sometimes that if i actually ate something before i got out if bed it would help with my nausea slightly. I would keep saltine crackers by my bed. On weekends I would have DH bring me a bowl of cereal in bed...yum!

Re: Waking up Hungry?

i remember this happening to me for a while. i would wake up famished. my DH would make fun of me because I would eat 2 breakfasts before lunch, one when i first got up and then another one 2 hours later. nothing crazy, just something to hold me over.

two breakfasts is the answer! try some carbs first thing in the morning then some dairy or protein and fruit for the second breakfast and that should do the trick

I would always wake up hungry in the middle of the night too!! And then it would keep me up since my belly just felt soooo empty!! It was really annoying! I wanna say it stopped around 13-14 weeks? Every once in awhile I still do, but for the most part it did stop!

Re: Waking up Hungry?

I ended up having a bagel thin with reduced fat cream cheese this morning right when I woke up, and then later on I made a egg omlette and had some grapes. That seemed to do pretty good, I was OK until lunch time!

Re: Waking up Hungry?

At this point I was the me way. I had breakfast at 6 (cereal), then once I was at work another breakfast at 10ish - eggs and toast, fruit yogurt and toast, or French toast and bacon. Then a full lunch at 2. Snack at 5. Another snack/small dinner at 8 when ingot home. Basically, I was starving and had and insatiable appetite until after lunch. Then I got slightly nauseous in the evening. NORMAL! Chat Icon

Re: Waking up Hungry?

I agree with the 2 breakfasts!

As soon as I get up I eat a bowl of cereal and then in 2 hours I have a bagel.

then I move on to lunch 1 and lunch 2.Chat Icon
