vitrified embryos .. a question
Does anyone know if there are any known risks involved with freezing embryos, thawing them, and then freezing them again? All through vitrification......

vitrified embryos .. a question

Thanks!! And yes, when you do the transfer they only thaw what's needed, assuming if you transfer 2 for example, they are in straws of 2. I'm actually asking for a different reason. I'll send you FM!

You probably did this but if you type it into google before the search results is an option for scholarly articles. There are many on the subject.

I googled, but I actually did not know about the scholarly articles option! Thank you! I don't have a head for this so I'll probably find what looks interesting and send them to my dh .. or to flowerwife!

Re: vitrified embryos .. a question
I didn't google it but carlo and drb b told me no way. I think 2 of mine were defrosted and refrozen with vitrification.

Re: vitrified embryos .. a question
I actually have a couple of straws with 3. Even though we've put back 3 in the past, I don't think we'll do it again! So, we would definitely have to refreeze! I'm assuming that it wouldn't be a problem.

Re: vitrified embryos .. a question
In the hands of a good lab it is not a problem. CCRM does this all of the time as they do a lot genetic testing. It obviously has not hurt their stats. You might want to speak to some CCRM ladies about this for more information. Good luck.

Re: vitrified embryos .. a question
I am about to either use a refrozen embryo or break apart 2 in one straw, so from my understanding is that if its good its good and re-freezing is not going to hurt the embryo or cause any issues. Dr. B told me he has no problems with it.
