Visiting for bloodwork advice
Hi All,
I'm new to the TTC board, but think I'll get a better answer here so I hope you don't mind a crasher
Quick background - Last month I was told during a CT (I had kidney stones!) that I had an ovarian cyst. So this month I freaked out and used OPKs for teh first time to make sure I'm ovulating. Of course, I never got a smiley.
So I saw my dr yesterday for my annual and she said she didn't feel any cysts. But, because I never got a smiley on the OPK last month (tested CD 9-16 on a 26 day cycle) she said I should get my blood work done and get a mid-cycle sono next month. This would mean going to get a progesterone level blook test later this week (CD 22). I think it woudl still be too early for a possibly pregnancy to register on a HPT that day, right?.
Should I hold off on the blood work until next cycle (start with FSH, day 3)? Or should I start later this week (day 21/22)? Should all the blood work be in the same cycle? Or does it not matter? My dr said I can start with the CD22 and then do CD 3 next cycle with a sonogram.
TIA!!

Re: Visiting for bloodwork advice
It depends on when you O. If you O'd on CD14 then you would be 8dpo then. It's still kinda early for a bfp to register.
I think it sounds like they want you do get a sono and mid cycle blood work to see if you O'd. The CD3 bloodwork tests for other stuff so you need both.
The CD22 sono and bloodwork check for different things than the CD3- if that makes sense. I'd do the CD22 this month like she said. I dont think it matters if it's a different cycle.
