virus that starts with red dots on belly?
jacen has little red dots on his belly. Has had them since yesterday.
what viruses start out that way? I thought it might be a food allergy to a new snack he had, but maybe not. So i'm preparing myself.

I did think allergy, but then megan mentioned maybe it's a virus since his sleeping is a tad off lately too. But he's not affected by anything otherwise.

Nope, rash came first for us... which is weird because with other viruses (ex roseola) the rash comes after.

Take some pics! The only reason I thought virus is because he has been off with his sleeping and a lot of rashes show up at the end of a viral infection. I'll go consult some of my textbooks, they have some pretty good rash pics

Nope. No one he's been around has had the pox or a virus.
Viruses are airborn. If you have been out and about in the last few days, then ds has been exposed to many things.
DS started with a little rash on his torso and then a fever and his entire body was covered. We went to the dr. and it was Roseola! No big deal really. Let it run its course!

Little red dots on Kristina's belly was how I found out that she was having an allergic reaction to sesame seeds.... It then spread to her back, legs, face, and arms.

I just gave jacen a bath and he has some dots on his one arm and on his one leg. But just a few, nothing major.

DD has that all the time and the daycare saw it first and called me at work. I had DH pick her up and take her to the Ped and it turned out to just be a contact rash. It happened again after I gave her a bath. Turns out she is just sensitive and the water dries out her skin and leaves these little red dots. So strange. I need to try a different body wash for her, but I was using Mustela! It started going away the next day and 2 days later is gone.

sorry honey.... didn't see this. call the ped, and ask what his dosage of benadryl would be for future reference based on his weight. I know that Kristina is 26.5 lbs, and her current dosage is 5 mL. HTH!
