vin #?
Random, maybe naive question, but I posted our Santa Fe on Craiglist and just got a hit. the person is interested and requested the "vin # for a carfax lookup".... Is the vin # something that you should give out?

Anyone interested in a used car will ask for the vin # to do a carfax report to get the history of the car.
It's is perfectly ok to give it out.

It is, since it's a unique number assigned to a particular car. It proves that the car you are selling is yours, they can look up the history, if they are really buying it, I think they can get insurance on it beforehand, with just the VIN.
No, you can't get a credit card, or forge an identity with a VIN...
