Vent -I'm not happy with my Maclaren Techno XT stroller
Last fall we bought the Maclaren Techno XT stroller for DS. I'm really not liking it very much.
My biggest gripe is that I have such a hard time unlocking the straps. It is so diffcult to push the button to release the straps. I strain my thumbs just trying to apply the right amout of pressure on them. I know this type of clasp is typical of all Maclarens. Does anyone else have this problem? My Mother or MIL could never use this stroller, as they both have carpal tunnel and would never be able to get DS out of the seat.
Also, my wrists hurt for some reason when I'm pushing the stroller, like they are at a weird angle. My hands get "tired" quickly.
Plus, I can't manuever the stroller around clothing racks and aisles with one hand while shopping. (I loved this feature with my city mini.)
And to top it off, the wheels squeek. Annoyingly and embarrassingly. I've sprayed them with WD40, and that helped..some.
I spent over $300 on this stroller, and I'm so not happy with it.
Anyone else have the same problems??

Re: Vent -I'm not happy with my Maclaren Techno XT stroller
I just got this stroller but have not used it yet. I did notice the clasp is tight. I thought maybe it was something that would loosen up over time...or something I was doing wrong.
Hearing your concerns, I am considering returning it. I noticed the wheels were big and kind of project out of from the frame of the stroller...if that makes sense.
I'm just not sure what stroller I would get instead. I have always assumed this would be it. Maybe the Quest is better?

i have the quest sport and love love love it.
the button is a little tough to unclasp, but it does loosen a little with use. You have to push the front and the back at the same time.

I found this to be true too.

Admittedly, we haven't gotten that much use out of the stroller this past winter since it was so yucky out. I'm hoping with more use, the clasp will loosen up some.
(DH will freak if I start looking at different strollers, so I better get used to this one!)

My first stroller was a city mini, and I loved it. But it wasn't so great for DS, because he was too reclined in the seat. He wanted to sit up more and look around. So even though I loved it, DS didn't. That's why we bought the Maclaren. However, the new Citi Minis are supposed to have a firmer seat back and a strap to keep the seat pulled forward.

I have this and at first I am not going to lie, my DS was stuck in it for 15 mins before DH got home because I had no idea how to open the straps
Now I think it's great and I am used to it. You just have to have the right timing and push the front and back at the same time.
