I am sorry that you have to deal with that I know it must be weird for you to have to rely on your DH's parents and not your own.
why dont you tell your mom how you feel

It's funny you wrote that...cuz we are in the same sort of situation. We are buying a house and DH's parents gave us a "gift" to help with the house. My mom was like...."Well, they have money so they should give it away"...meanwhile, she doesn't offer any $$$ at all, and I know she has extra.
I have come to the "Whatever" point in my life...I appreciate what I do get and don't even try to figure people out anymore.
