vegas flight help
We've got friends in LA that want us to meet up in Vegas; they'll get us a free room for a weekend. Looking at flights for any weekend and its like $500pp
I think flights there are cheaper when you book a room/package but since we don't need the room, i'm looking for any suggestions for cheap fares Fri-Sun.

I'm going to Vegas next Thursday night. I bought my ticket in November late on a wednesday night. For Thursday night to Sunday, Round trip on American came to $319 total. I watched the fares and it was jumping up and down for 2 weeks before I purchased. I've heard that Wednesday nights are the cheapest to buy, in my case that was true, but I don't know if it was just luck on my part, or if that is fact.

thanks for the tip. i've been looking at every weekend flight for like months and they're all basically the same price which is beyond annoying. we don't want to travel midweek so i guess we'll be getting spanked

I just booked thru Amex travel and it was $424 a person with hotel and airfare for a Thurs - Mon in May. Maybe it would be worth it to do a package and get your own room.

That sounds about right since mid-week travel is around $300. If you fly out Thurs and fly back Sun, you'll probably be in the $400 range. If you want Fri-Sun, $500 range.
Can you take off a Fri and/or Mon?

Yes I want to take the Fri off and come back Sun but seems like prices are still $500 from say Thurs night to sun.
