Varicocele Update PLUS Vent!
My DH had varicocele surgery in December. Yesterday, we got his SA results and there has been no improvement. Looks like we are stuck with the frozen sperm  To say, I am disappointed is an understatement. My DH will not talk about and is just numb to the entire situation. It is even more frustrating because he has had lingering pain since the surgery. He has his official follow up on Monday to get that figured out.
I CAN NOT take this when do we finally get a break!
Plus I got AF this morning (8 days late to mess up the start of our next cycle). Now, I need to schedule a saline sonogram. Oh and I found out one of my best friends is 3 months pregnant. Oh yeah and I am single-handedly planning my sister's baby shower - thanks for the help mom.

I'm so sorry DH had varicocele repair surgery in September of 08 and his numbers didn't increase drastically either. However your DH should we at least 6 months until a year to see how his counts are. After that if they haven't went up then I would look at alternative plans.
Try vitamins those did help DH's SA when we were doing IVF #1. Also he's now on clomid which has seemed to help some too. If it's any consolation his SA counts were from a range of 2 all the way to 10mil +.
We have gotten pregnant on our own (although that ended with chemicals which is a different ballgame) and with IVF so there is hope.
Do you have a friend who can help you plan your sisters shower? That is so rough. Many

Luckily - we do have frozen sperm and we are now working with a new clinic (RMA).
As for the SA, in September 2011, my DH's count was 500,000. In April and July 2012, it was zero. Yesterday's results were also zero.
I am most concerned over the fact that he is still uncomfortable from the surgery - like we can not even catch one &$%$& break.
As for planning of the baby shower, it is not really that big of a deal and I am almost done with it now. I just feel like I have no one to talk to about our struggles (with the exception of DH and he is not a big talker). My mom does not understand it...she tries, but she "accidentally" got pregnant 5 times - how can she relate. My pregnant sister is the most sensitive person about that whole thing, but she got pregnant one month off BCPs.

the only thing to say is vent away! we are here for u.
I know how rough low count can be - everything else is fine and feels fine so why is this happening to us type of thing. but sounds like not all is lost for now as u do have the frozen guys 
cant imagine having to plan that party. *shudder*. no matter how much u love someone having to plan other ppl's happiness is something I really wouldnt be able to do. I actually refused to go to our family's holiday party b/c there were going to be kids there.
oh and now I found out that at work I have to go to a meeting for a preg woman. awesome....

all I can say is I am so sorry you have to go through all of this and I hope your BFP is coming soon!! I am one of the last of my friends to have a baby. Most of mine have 2-4 kids already!!! Vent away. That's what we are all here for!!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I don't have any personal experience but I do remember someone on here (MrsDeVito) had her DH on a whole host of supplements and things and I'm guessing it helped them because she has a little boy now. Just figured as an FYI.

ETA Yes MrsDevito has a beautiful story. She ended up getting pregnant on her own after severe MF IF and a failed IVF. She has a beautiful boy now.
She also has a list of vitamins that her DH used to help his count. I can FM them to you if you want.

Varicocele Update PLUS Vent!
I have seen her story before and had my DH take some of the vitamins. When we started seeing the urologist, he stopped - not really sure why. My DH had testicular cancer so our reason as to why he has azoospermia is a little different. Most likely, his germ cells are permanently damaged from the chemotherapy....

So sorry you are dealing with this. Planning a baby shower, all the pregnant people, and kids isn't the easiest. Hang in there. This is all a struggle, but it will be worth it in the end.
