Vanity tops

We need to replace the vanity top in our bathroom, but the top is a custom size since it's an old bathroom. They only sell 61" stock tops and I need 64 1/2". I've been pricing them and they're waaaaaay too expensive. Any suggestions? I wish we could just use the stock one's. We were just going to paint the cabinet since it's brown and put a new top on it, but now I don't know. Soooo aggravating!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Vanity tops

Why dont you just get one of the cheap vanity and tops at Home Depot. I think they are around $200

Re: Vanity tops

I would, but there would be space on the sides from where the older vanity was. What would I do with the little bit of extra space? Chat Icon

ETA: There is a wall on both sides of the existing vanity/top and it was made to fit tightly in between that. Chat Icon

Re: Vanity tops

I would probably build something out of wood. 3" or 4" wide to fill in the gap against a wall, and a few inches high. Could be used to hold soap, razors, toothbrushes, etc.

Or, since it's between two walls, you could have a 1-1.5" backsplash that matches/coordinates with the material of the backsplash, and put it on both sides.

Re: Vanity tops

Home depot and lowes both sell filler pieces which are around 10-12 dollars. We did this for my MIL's kitchen cabinets. I know they have it in stock in white and the other colors their stock cabinets come in.
