Using the bottle for comfort?

Dd is 7 weeks today and seems to use the bottle for comfort. She at times will cry, root, suck on hands etc like she's never eaten before but only take an ounce. Sometimes the only way to calm her is with the bottle.

She will NOT take a pacifier. She looks at me like its the most disgusting thing ever haha. We've tried 5 different ones. She will take it here and there but for 5. Mins and is done.

What else can I do? How do I get her to stop taking it for comfort?

Does she show any signs of reflux? Crying while eating? Arching her nack? Spitting up?

She may be interested in it but keep in mind they will continue to spit out pacifier in the beginning. It takes awhile for them to start sucking to hold it in. Your probably better off not to start it though.

sounds like reflux! they seem like they are starving and take some formula and then refuse the bottle!

The paci she won't even entertain the idea. She won't close her mouth around it. If she does take it it's for 2 mins and its out but won't take it again.

I've thought acid reflux before. She has symptoms of it but they are not consistent or even everyday. I might have to take her to the dr.

My dd did the exact same thing with the paci. Your better off not forcing itbecause its one less thing to transition her out of. My dd is 10 months amd never took it.

It sounds like your dd is doing what my dd did and she had reflux.. She uses the milk to cut th acid burn shes feeling from the reflux. At first my dd symptoms were inconsistent but started to become more consistent. She was originally put on axid and it worked for a bit then stopped and she was put on zantac.
Worked like a charm. I had a brand new baby. Took her offf by 6 months.
