Using LATCH sytem in center
Just found out some info on using the LATCH sytem for carseat in center of seat. If the space between the LATCH hooks is more than 11 inches, it is safer to use the seatbelt. Mine is 14 inches I also read that the LATCH system isn't any safer than the belt, it is just easier to get a proper instalation. I love the LATCH system but will use the belt since I want DD in the center for now.

Re: Using LATCH sytem in center
Usually, if they are that far apart, there really aren't middle LATCHES. Are there a total of 6 latch points? I know that everything I've read about LATCH says you can't use one from the left side, and one from the right side. There needs to be a pair for the center.
The only reason that LATCH is considered safer, is that it is easier to get the seat in properly. If everything is done right, there is no real difference between LATCH and seatbelt. There is also a weight limit for the LATCH system. Each car may be different, but I know there is a limit, whereas the seatbelt doesn't have a limit.

Re: Using LATCH sytem in center
We were told the same exact thing, so we use the seat belts instead too.
