Did anyone need to provide a letter of medical necessity?
My fsa plan is suddenly requesting a letter of medical necessity for cryopreservation of embryos and I"m confused b/c I've been paying for this for 3 years now and this is the first I've ever heard of this letter.

No one uses FSA money for these expenses? You guys should really look into it - it saves a lot of money!

I do and I have never had to justify it. That's strange, but maybe it's a new thing w Obamacare?

We use our HSA (which is similar to a FSA) for embryo and sperm storage and have never had a problem.

I know - neither have I! I've been trying to research it online and can only find the 2012 IRS rules which state that short-term storage is an acceptable use. I think they are wrong too, just trying to figure out whether anyone else has had this issue.
FTR my FSA is administered through a company called Wage Works.
