UPDATED******If you have an escrow account......??
doesnt it pay the taxes and homeowners insurance??
we just got a bill for the homeowners insurance I am freaking out a little
UPDATE..talked to my insurance broker so she called my Mortgage company and they are gonna pay the HI
but I feel like if I didnt know and just paid the bill no one would have even noticed

it should. Are your sure it's a bill? we got a bill sent to us but it said "To be paid by our mortage company on such and such date." It's for our records.

Maybe enough wasn't put into the account. We got that last year, we owed about $300.
Give a call to your bank.
ETA: This was only for taxes. I never had an issue with insurance.

When did you close?
For instance, we closed in Oct and our bank required that my Homeowners was paid in full for 1-year, after a year my bank will pay for it through my escrow account. Check with the Mrtg company how it was set up.

I just ordered homeowner's insurance and paid in full. He did say the way it works, is that years down the road, we'll get this back in a refund, but in the meantime, when we move in, we pay a monthly amount. I guess this is the way the bank protects itself in case we can't make our payments that first year or something.

yes, our HO insurance gets taken out of our mortagae as well as our taxes. When its time for the anual renual of our HO ins. i get a bill, but then it automatically gets deducted from mort.
