UPDATED... Every Month on 12dpo
My temp takes a huge nosedive, and this month was no different. And then I went and decided to test to see if the trigger was still there, but it was a bigl blaring BFN laughing in my face. I'm totally confused, but not quite out yet as I haven't even started to spot yet, which I normally do just hours after I see the dip in temp.
The positive part of me is keeping hope that I probably shouldn't have been temping after getting the triggers last week as they could be messing with my temps since they have been on an up and down pattern this month, and for the past 3 days have been slowly going down before the huge dive this morning. The negative part is that if I look at all my past charts for the past 4 months, the drop looks exactly the same on 12dpo as it does today, except for the fact I have not started spotting yet.
Could a BFP still be in my sights for this cycle? Or should I listen to my gut and trust the drop in temp that AF is very close? I'm supposed to go for my pregnancy blood test on Tuesday if AF still isn't here. I also thought the trigger is supposed to lengthen your LP? If it is supposed to do that, it didn't do that this month.
If AF does show, we have a follow up appointment with the doctor next Tuesday to discuss next steps which I know will be IVF due to DH's morphology issues.
I've been feeling so positive and unstressed the past couple of months, but I'm feeling defeated today. And I had to spend the whole day hosting my IL's (and both SIL's) and the 6 little kiddies all day. NOT what I wanted to do.
I need hugs tonight...

I wouldn't give up hope yet. The fact that you haven't spotted yet could mean something. Hang in there! I know it's tough. It could still happen for you this month...

Re: Every Month on 12dpo
The trigger is definitely out of your system at 12DPO...but you may not have enough HCG if you were pregnant to get a positive on a PG test. Unfortunately, if your temps dropped - you probably aren't.
That being said - your LP is fine at 13/14 days - any longer would mean high progesterone levels...the only thing that will help lenghten LP is usually progesterone supplements. The trigger would have no effect.
The downside of IUI is that it only increases your chances of getting PG by about 10-20% and that isn't a whole lot. The upside of IVF is that with Male Factor, IVF/ICSI will increase your chances by 50% or more.
So think positive and maybe IVF will be the key for you.

I don't think the trigger is supposed to lengthen the LP, its just supposed to get you to ovulate. I know it didn't lengthen mine, I got AF only 9 days after the trigger.
Don't count yourself out yet though!!

Re: Every Month on 12dpo
thanks everyone. My temp shot back up this morning, but I'm not holding onto hope right now. I have not yet started AF, and will still have to go tomorrow morning for a blood test if she has not come, but I'm pretty sure I'm out and it's onto IVF.

Updated Re: Every Month on 12dpo
Thanks again everyone
So, today is CD1 I'm not handling this month too well. The past couple of months I've been pretty strong about it, but for many reasons this month I want to just bury myself under my blankets and stay there. We have our follow up with the doctor next Tuesday, but because that's a week away, I didn't want to "waste" a cycle, so we got the okay to do one more month on the Clomid with trigger and IUI. My nurse told me the doctor will be talking to us about doing IVF with ICSI for next cycle should I not get pregnant this month. While I know this is going to give us the highest success percentage, it's hard pill for me to swallow.

first of all I am sorry . I have definitely been there having good months and bad months. You will get through it and remember you are allowed to be upset, you don't always have to be strong. Hopefully next cycle will work!
but if not IVF is very promising and you have much better chances then with iui. If this cycle or my next cycle don't work I will be with you on the IVF. good luck and feel better
