Update with purchase: YAY or NAY on this jacket?
Update- purchase made....Pricing  and puffer vs pea coat:
Bought the puffer today in store in Black.
For some reason online the outwear sale is UP TO 50% off and the jacket is like $45 online, it was on sale for 50% IN STORE and I paid $29 for it Chat Icon Chat Icon
They didnt have the navy though, so I went with black and it was SUPER cute. As for the pea coat, it stops in a weird spot, at least on me. Its like it shouldve been like an inch or two longer. It was also really boxy and square and not terribly figure flattering. Plus I wouldve been warmer in a $10 hoodie.

I need a new winter coat, I dont want anything fancy, nothing long, just a basic, warm jacket.
What do we think of this one from Old Navy (also comes in black and chocolate)
I REALLY love this one, but just think its not as practical and wont be as warm, plus I always find pea coats a PITA to drive in bc the arms dont move that freely.

Love them both but I say go for the puffy jacket. They are easier to clean and warmer! HTH!

I like 2 I'm not a fan of the puffy jackets for adults, it adds to much bulk and doesn't look professional if you have to dress up for work.
I love pea coats! I actually have a few of them, 1 from old navy and I have never had trouble with driving in it.

I love them both and if they are reasonably priced, it wouldn't hurt to have both pieces in your wardrobe. The puffer is definitely more practical for the cold winter ahead, but the orange is so cute!
