update w/ first beta #'s!
So I had experienced spotting last week, starting on Wednesday, went to the doctor on Friday, they did bloodwork and a sono, which didn't show anything in my uterus. If you go by my LMP I am 6 weeks along exactly, but if you go by when I o'd, I was only 14 or 15dpo at Friday's sono. So, today's follow up visit was promising.....the sonogram showed the tiniest sac (2 mm!). And they told me my first beta # from Friday was 180 and progesterone was 40.1, which the doctor said is a great #! They drew more blood today so I'll have those results tomorrow to make sure the beta has doubled. The sono tech was so funny, she said I am like a "hot second pregnant" I guess despite my cycle being long (almost 40 days this month) if you go by conception timeframe it's still early. I go back on Thursday to make sure the sac has progressed (they're still not ruling out an ectopic, even though she said if that were the case my beta# would probably be higher).
So the spotting and the mild cramping I had have stopped (both of which I did not take lightly since I miscarried at 8 weeks last time and spotting was the first sign!!), so I take these as positive signs even though I know I will not feel 100% out of the woods until I'm out of the first trimester. Thank you all for your input on "normal" spotting the other day I hope this time around I will be one of the lucky ones that spotting just happens and you go on to have a normal healthy pregnancy!!!

That sounds like good news!!! My situation a couple weeks ago was so similar. I had a little spotting which ended up with me freaking out because thy couldn't find anything on the sono. Then a week later they could see the embryo.that's great that you were able to see the sac! If you're that early in your pregnancy another week will make a big difference. By next week or so you would probably be able to see a little heartbeat. Does your doctor want you to get another sono soon?

Yes I go back for a sono and bloodwork on Thursday night. I was reading that a 2 mm sac is on par with being 5 weeks along (even though I thought I'd be closer to 6 weeks....). I may have problems with seeing a heartbeat early though b/c I found out I have a tilted uterus. I read that it can take up to 12 weeks for some w/ a tilted uterus to see it, but hopefully with these sensitive transvaginal u/s's I'll get lucky and see it earlier!! I never saw a heartbeat when I miscarried so that will make me feel SO much better just getting that far (even though anything can still happen of course, but with every hurdle I cross I feel more positive!!)
