Update on that crazy "old wives tale" about turning your baby...

Ummm I did it last night (because apparently I didn't do it correctly the first time.....)

AND......

DS slept from 8pm to 2:30am and from 3 am to 6 am..

I swear up and down that just 3 nights ago he was still waking up 3 times a night. I swear.

Coincidense? Probably? But, I bet you want to try it nowChat Icon Chat Icon

So I took him and held him out in front of me. I turned him clockwise. Yup, this did involve him going upside down so DH helped (I didn't want to snap his little head offChat Icon ). I turned him just once.

It was this stupid thing that taking your baby and holding him in front of you and turning him clockwise would make him STTN. Something silly about thier internal clocks needing to rewound. I tried it as a joke really... I don't, by any means, think that is why DS STTN, pretty much, But, it was a funny coincidense!Chat Icon

Actually its not as crazy as you may think. Alexa went for cranial sacral therapy starting at 3 days old because of severe torticolis. THey basically do light massage and then "hang her" upside down by her feet. The "hanging" helps to realign the spine and body which also is suppose to help them sleep.

The first time they did it I was Chat Icon Chat Icon but she slept so well that night and was so calm I was like, whatever!

WHenever she got really upset we would turn her upside down by her feet and she would immediately quiet. In fact, she frequently tries to go upside down.......

Huh??? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon So, right before DD goes to bed, I hold her in front of me, and turn her?? Wow. I am getting it right? If so, I will try it.

BTW, I did a bit of cranial sacral therapy for myself years ago and loved it.

WOW! Hey if it worked it worked!

Im aparently not picturing this correctly, why would holding him and turning him clockwise cause him to be upside down? Im picturing you holding him on his back, tummy up and just turning him in the same position, clockwise.

I think they mean holding the baby out in front of you vertically, feet facing the ground.

Am I right?! lol

True... the cranial sacral therapy and the fact that she looked like a baby orangutan with all her hair and I called her "monkey" may be why she likes to be upside down so much~!!!
