UPDATE: Dr used wrong code for HSG through insurance

I scheduled my HSG for next Wednesday but got a call back soon after saying that insurance won't cover an infertility procedure. My doctor coded it wrong so now they have to start from scratch and get my doctor to redo the paperwork. She was suppose to code it along the lines with Endormetriosis, not infertility. Problem is, is that she wasn't in today. So now I have to wait until they can talk to her and then resubmit it under a different code. I told them to use the same code they used last year when I had the procedure done with no insurance problems. Now they have to call me back. I just hope they can get it through ASAP because I need the procedure done by Thursday of this upcoming week or I'll have to wait another month.

Does anyone know how much an HSG procedure costs without insurance?

I hope they can work this out for you. This procedure could be anywhere from $600-$1000.

Do you think that since they used the wrong code it'll bring up a red flag for when they resubmit it and then will deny it? I have many things approved by insurance/on file regarding my Endometriosis so they know I've been getting treatment for that. That's what they used the last time I had an HSG done. I just hope they can resubmit it and get it approved on Monday.

Very happy! The insurance company told my doctors office that with using the Endometriosis code they don't need precertification and it's already covered!

My HSG is this Wednesday at 2:00pm. I only have one functioning ovary so I'm hoping that if it is blocked that this works and we'll be able to get PG soon! If it's not blocked, then I don't know?
