UPDATE: Can anyone recommend a Pediatrician in the Huntington area?
UPDATE: Thank you ladies for recommending Dr. Cavanagh. He was amazing and I'm feeling confident in our choice for a pediatrician! 
My son is due to arrive July 8th. I know I have to get on this soon, so I would like to know if anyone could recommend a great pediatrician in the Huntington area. Also if you could let me know what you like about the practice, dr's, etc.
I appreciate any suggestions!

I highly recommend Dr. James Cavanaugh. He is great. He always calls you back right away and is very professional.

I use Dr Muia- Chisena. She is a solo practice ped in Centerport. I love the personal attention and because it's not a huge office she knows everything going on with DS and doesn't have to refer to a chart.

ditto.. he is AWESOME!
So sweet, kind and very very very responsive
ETA: I love their late hours, early hours, weekend hours and that they are always available all the time. I called a doc at 2am, 4am and on her suggestion I came in on Sunday at 10am and guess who we saw? haha I was like "You seriously need a nap" haha
I love that they worked with me on the vaccinations (I wanted my own schedule) they visited me three times at the hosptial (c/s). Dr. Cavanaugh actually discharged AJ haha.
They have always done right by AJ. She had high fevers and was cranky one night.. by the next morning she was totally fine. They didnt buy that for one bit and we hung around for 2hrs waiting for her to pee. Then they found she had a UTI. It would have been easily looked over but they REFUSED to let it go. They believed ME! and seeing as its so hit and miss with a newborn I really appreciated that.
When I moved to TX they even offered that at any time I wanted I could come by their office (while visiting NY) and she's still a 'current patient'.
My actual doctor was Dr. Saddiqui (sp?) she was really sweet but had to leave towards the end because she was having her third child.
I LOVE Huntington Medical group because EVERYTHING was there. I actually saw Dr. Saddiqui's husband for a surgery. Saw their cardiologist, general practicioner, pulmary folks, obgyn, pediatricans, gastro and surgerical staff all in one place.
Oh Pediatrics is separate and the only place with an 'office' type set up. So the kids won't get in contact with others.
Yep I highly recommend.

He's not affiliated with Good Sam where I'll most likely be delivering but the receptionist said he would still see the baby after delivery. Has anyone had experience with that? I mean I guess its not a big deal b/c with the hospital there will be the hospitals pediatrician there to check out the baby and then my OB will be there also right??

well they really are checking the baby for proper weight gain/loss and to give the final OK for the baby to leave.
They are all pediatricans and if they are on hospital rotation they've seen it all. I think its fine for those first 3days or so. Afterall you need to take your child to your normal pediatrican that very first week anyhow. So I assume its rather common that the pediatrician in the hospital isnt the one you 'choose' outside.
