Update: and WWYD?
SO--- the babies lung maturity came back that he/she is not 100% ready to come today :( The hospital requires an LS of 2.0 or greater and he/she was a 1.7...
(The frustraing part (becuase of course, Im comparing) is that my DS was also a 1.7 and he was still delivered at 36 bc of complications and a bunch of other reasons and he was a 6lb. heathy baby, no NICU, no respirator, no problems whatsoever)
Im disappointed bc I have had in my head that today was the day but I certainly know that its for the better :) Baby O2 needs to bake longer, I get that...
Now, I just have to call the doctor and decide to either
A. go for another amnio next week and pending results (positive=deliver) (negative=wait until Valentines Day week) which is what Im leaning toward only bc I dont think I can wait for B.
B. just schedule the c-section for Valentines Day week and hope and pray I dont go into labor. (bc I cant chance a uterine rupture due to complications from #1)

Sorry. I would just have a scheduled c-section. I would want to keep my baby in as long as possible to avoid complications after birth.

Same here. it sounds like you didnt really have a choice last time, if there is nothing immediately wrong now i wouldnt do it until the lungs are 100%!
Good luck!

Julie I'm so sorry you couldn't just have the baby today! I have no idea what I would do because I really just think it's a risk vs.benefit thing. I would just ask your dr what's safest and go with that. You must be making it so much fun in there the kid isn't ready to come out!!!

Of course, my priority is the health of the baby and my health is secondary... MFM will allow a 37 week delivery IF the FLM comes back 2.0 or higher --- if not he will sign off on the 38 week section should I decide on that too...becuase by 38 weeks (if I havent go into labor) the risk to me is much greater (uterine rupture) than the risk to the baby... Its up to me to decide. So now, Im pondering over coffee what the hell to do...
I struggle with anxiety so this planning part (or a disruption in the plan) has caused me even more... If I didnt have a LO at home then I dont think I would be stressing as much...BUT
Ill be in the hospital for at least 4 days which means that god forbid I do go into labor bc I waited 2 weeks then I have to rush myself to the hospital ASAP, call DH, MIL, mom and have them all take off work ASAP, put in vacation to be with me/baby/new one, etc...
hope this makes sense bc I think I just rambled on...(made sense in my head)

I just don't think this is a decision they should be leaving up to you to make. They're the doctors... I would speak to them and ask what they recommend of those two options. It just doesn't seem fair to put that on you!

I would have a schedule c-section (unless I go into labor beforehand then it would be an emergency)...but it would either be next week pending a second amnio and results OR no amnio and done in 2 weeks...
Having to make this decision is what im stressing over...

Im 36w3d today... they would schedule an amnio at 37w4d which is next Thursday OR just schedule csection for 38w1d on Monday 2./11

Is this right?
If they do the amnio on 2/7 you could have a csection on 2/8 as long as the numbers come back above a 2.
OR
You could just schedule a csection for 2/11 with no further testing.
I don't know enough about the risks to really give advice but have the doctors given you what the odds are of your uterus rupturing if you were to go into labor or is it a definite? For me (after experiencing an amnio and being a baby) if the risk of rupture was low I would probably just schedule a csection for 2/11 at 38 weeks and pass on the additional amnio.

Re: Update: and WWYD?
Hm, 36 weeks seems early but 37 doesn't seem so early. But having to go through another amnio doesn't sound appealing either! Are you dilated or having contractions?
I'd ask the drs their opinions, but if they think you'll make it to 38 weeks, I'd just schedule it then and avoid having to go through a 2nd amnio.
Sorry you have to make this decision...but I'm sure everything will be ok for you and the baby!

Since its either have an amnio in 7 days/baby in 8days OR Just have a baby in 10 days...
IM GOING WITH MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11th ---IM HAVING A BABY!!!! Not doing another amnio, not worth it and certainly if I can wait 7 days what the hell is another 3!!!
Spoke to the Dr. and he agrees he would have done the same thing) he gave me the option bc he knows Im a pain in the ass :) hahaha
