unquenchable thirst?? Canker sore??
the other day I woke up with pain underneath in the back of my tongue I am assuming I either bit my tongue or I got a canker sore (which I tend to feel like I get when I put my fingers in my mouth which I very rarely do unless I wash my hands very very well to prevent from getting one of course sometimes I just do it with out thinking)
my issue is that I have been extremely thirsty. I keep drinking water and I still feel thirsty. my lips are chapped (they were chapped before this at one point but it started to get better and now has come back). I usually drink tons of a water a day anyway (at least 94 FL oz a day) but the past several months I haven't been that good at it.
is feeling like this normal as a result on the canker sore or should I be concerned. according to my husband I could be dying since he is hypochondriac so he is no help. would you go to the dr?

I would. I know one of the signs of diabetes is unquenchable thirst (not trying to diagnose you over the Internet or anything, just saying it can't hurt to go to the dr.).

I googled and read this too. which got me wondering. I get physicals yearly though I haven't gone yet this year. I forgot to mention I feel like I have gone through this before but I cant exactly remember and this time around my DH is getting into my head.
maybe I will just suck it up and go

Wow, that's alot of water you drink. Thats awesome!
I highly doubt the sore in your mouth has anything to do with your thirst? Are you eating anything processed or anything with added salt? Also, are you peeing more? Or retaining??
If you haven't gone to the DR yet; I'd go for a check up with some basic bloodwork.
You can always make another appt for a complete physical if the wait is too long.

If you went from drinking 94 oz of water a day to significantly less, you might just be dehydrated. If I were you, I'd up my water intake before running to the doctor.
Also, canker sores are a (harmless) virus. They would have nothing to do with putting your fingers in your mouth. But they can really, really freaking hurt.

Re: unquenchable thirst?? Canker sore??
thanks everyone. I have an appointment for a physical but I couldn't get it till December.
I decided to make a doctors appointment; i have it tomorrow afternoon. I am going away next week so if by chance it is something I rather know before I leave.

Imo it's just that you haven't been drinking as much as you normally do do your body is feeling it.
Canker sore it just a coincidence.
I would worry and I wouldn't Google it

Re: unquenchable thirst?? Canker sore??
Be careful drinking that much water. I read something recently about people drinking way too much water, and depleting their body of the vitamins it needs, especially potassium, and giving them all kinds of weird symptoms. I used to drink a ton, probably like 100 ounces a day. When I cut back to a normal amount, I felt so much better! I did notice I was extremely thirsty the first few days when I started cutting back, so maybe it's that!
