Universal Studios - Harry Potter
I love Harry Potter, but I hate roller coasters. I've been on the Forbidden Journey ride and lovedddd it!
I am going back to the new part, I really want to ride Escape to Gringotts but is it a roller coaster?
I love virtual reality rides but like to know I am safe and not dangling 100's of feet off the ground. I am scared has anyone ridden it?

It's not a roller coaster. It's a 3D, multidimensional ride.

There isn't a scary drop in the beginning? I've been trying to YouTube the ride lol. The reason why I am so scared is because in the books/movie they're legit on a track. Like w roller coaster track. Are you ever super high enough?
I am such a baby last time my husband tried to pay me $500 to ride the flying unicorn ride which was repurposed into the baby Hagrid roller coaster and I refused!

Nope! No drop at all- everything is simulated. You might feel like you drop and twist, and it does feel realistic, but you're never high off the ground at all.
It's exactly like the Forbidden Journey ride. It was funny on that one when you're "flying" over Hogwarts I moved my foot out of the way of a turret it seemed so real and kicked my DH. Who then thought HE kicked something that we were flying over.

Haha I have! I've watched it like 5x by different people but it's so dark and it looks like they're on a roller coasters. From the reviews I've read a mix of Spider-Man which I loved with the mummy ride which I won't ride.

Re: Universal Studios - Harry Potter
There actually is a scary drop in the beginning, but it's pretty short, and I HATE roller coasters. It's TOTALLY worth the 5 seconds of fear for the rest of it, which is all virtual amazingness. (I was just on it a few days ago -- I love it, and there's a harness that comes down over you, so you know you're secure.) I love it more than the Forbidden Journey, which I didn't think would be possible. Have fun!

Thank you! At least it's in the beginning so I can get it over with. Reminds me of the first time I was on that Jurassic park ride. All of a sudden I am like why are we going up?! Why are we going up??? And then you do that log flume thing. I was the only one who got soaked!

See, now I can do the roller coasters (well most), but cannot do these simulator rides at Universal. They make me nauseous! We were just at Disney, and I had to close my eyes on Star Tours!

What is star tours is that in magic kingdom?
I am afraid on roller coasters I am going to die or get scalped or get my legs cut off at the ankles, or plummet to my death somehow. But the virtual reality don't bother me bc I feel safe and if I start to feel the motion I look closely and see it's fake and that I am staring at a screen. I love them.

It's a Star Wars themed ride at Hollywood Studios. They have redone it to add some scenes from the new movie, and there are to 50 different versions of the ride, so you could have a different experience each time you ride. I rode once, with eyes closed. Then my kids wanted to go again, so they went on without me. It was different the 2nd time. If you are a Star Wars fan, Hollywood Studios is the place to be these days (I'm not a Star Wars fan...but my son is). We met Kylo Ren and *I* was scared LOL
