uncooperative baby for sono
I need to be prepared in advance. During the actual sono, if the baby isn't cooperating- is there anything I can do to make him or her flash us their goodie bits?

She was being so bad for my Level II... it was ridiculous! But they finally got the money shot, and I was so happy to see those 3 little lines!

The technician will probably have you cough, or jiggle your belly. That is what happened to me last time when mine was sleeping. I don't think there is anything you can personally do. But the technician might give you juice or something.

The sono tech jiggled my stomach to wake up the baby and/or get baby to move for various measurements during my Level II and growth sonos.

Re: uncooperative baby for sono
Mine had me try to switch positions and also jiggled the belly when they were trying to get the cranial photos, but she was being so uncooperative that they had to wind up doing an internal sono on top of the regular....

There's not much you can do on the table.
During my first sono (nuchal fold) was lying on her back so the tech had a hard time getting her neck measurement...she had me cough, she tilted the table so my feet were over my head, she dug into me with that scanning thing so hard I thought it was going to come out of my back...but there wasn't anything else that I could do to change my baby's position until she was ready to move. As my DH said, she's just like her mother - won't do a d@mn thing until she's good and ready.

Re: uncooperative baby for sono
My baby was uncooperative when we went for our Level II. We knew we were having a boy cause we had an amnio but my DH wanted a picture
The technician had me shift from laying on my back to the side - it didn't work. She had me cough and that didn't work either. In the end, she left us for a few minutes and my DH and I were joking around and had me laughing hysterically. When she came back, he was in the right position for the "money shot".

Re: uncooperative baby for sono
My little one was not cooperating for one of my sonos and she giggled my belly until he moved.
A little uncomfortable, but we were able to see his moneymaker as a result.

Re: uncooperative baby for sono
My baby was moving a lot, and the technician saw boy parts, but she didn't get a great look, and we couldn't see anything.
They will probably poke your belly and try to get the baby to move around, but beyond that, I don't think there's much they can do.
