um, i think i'm having braxton hicks
can someone tell me if your WHOLE belly gets rock hard, like you can't even push on it, or is it still a tiny bit pliable?
i always thought it was the baby pushing out with his butt but sitting here at my desk... i think that was a BH!
i am SO confused...

When I get them it feels like my uterus scrunches up and my whole belly gets pretty hard and tight but it usually starts up high (under my ribcage) and the tightness moves downward.

mine just feel like menstrual cramps , I havent gotten the tightening of the stomach yet but i heard they can def feel like that

see this is what was confusing me... that's exactly how mine feel, they start at the top of my belly and don't really reach all the way to the bottom...
i thought it was the baby's butt pushing up 
well it's nice to know they are just uncomfortable and nothing more!

That's EXACTLY what mine feel like. However, now I am able to tell when it's the baby becuase I can only feel him in one spot. When it's a BH, the belly gets hard all the way across (mine go from a little below my belly button to the top of my belly). It will stay hard for 30 sec- 1 min and wont go away if I push on it. When it's the baby, I can push him and make him squirm

Same thing here. I too thought it was the baby at first but when you press on your belly nothing happens, it just stays rock hard and then all of a sudden it relaxes and feels "normal" again. When it's the baby I can always nudge him/her over and out of the way. The BH come on out of nowhere (they don't hurt) and it's an instant abdominal tightening.
