Re: Ultrascreen question

I belive the ultrascreen tests for abnormalities such as downs syndrome and spina bifida. I think it's done between 11 and 13 weeks and it's something like 80% accurate. I had mine last week. I didn't want it cause I heard there can be a high rate of false positives.

Re: Ultrascreen question

Ultrascreen tests for Chromosomal Anomalies like Down Syndrome and is done at approx 12 weeks...

Quad Screen AFP is done at approx 16 weeks and tests for Spina Bifida and "down Syndrome"

The Level II is an anatomy scan and growth to make sure that the baby has all its parts and is growing appropriately.

Ultrascreens and AFPs are considered SCREENING tests and are not diagnostic..should these test reveal an issue there would still be a need for further testing.

All 3 tests can show indicators that the baby has "down syndrome" but only an amnio or cvs can tell you definitively whether or not the baby has the condition...

Re: Ultrascreen question

The one that looks like a real photo is a 3D/4D. It is not necessarily part of any particular test, but rather refers to the newer scanning technology. Some people can get them at their Level II, but usually there is an additional cost involved. Sometimes the tech will do it only on the screen.

The tests themselves were very well explained in the previous post.
