Re: UHC breast pump

I have UHC and am ordering my pump today...if you look on their websites, it tells which ones are covered (and they are the ones covered under my policy)...Byram is a medela double pump (not PIS) and an Ameda...Edgepark is an Ameda and a Playtex...Genadyne is provided by Lucina and it looks like it is a Lansinoh or some other brand I haven't heard of...I'm going to go with the Medela because I already have a Medela and I will keep one at home and one at work and the parts are interchangeable...my SIL had the Ameda and liked it...If you go with Byram, they will send you an order form to complete where you choose the pump and they send it to you (in my plan it is no copay and no shipping)...

Re: UHC breast pump

I do and hoping to get the medela, but when I called they said UHC won't approve it until after I deliverChat Icon I have to call back at that time.

Re: UHC breast pump

UHC won't let you have the pump until you deliver...Byram will start the verification process 5 days prior to your due date...

Re: UHC breast pump

I just ordered my medela from Byram health care. I already had one at home and wanted to get a second one for work. It was SUPER easy!

Re: UHC breast pump

I called a few weeks ago and they told me UHC won't cover it until the baby is born. I have to call from the hospital and it will be delivered within 1 week.

UHC breast pump

I have UHC also. When I spoke with the breast pump department at Byram they told me they would send me the paperwork and I should send it back and if they needed a prescription they would let me know. They also told me that if she was born earlier to call and tell them because they only send it out when she is born or due. I sent it in a month and half before my daughter was due and a week later before I could even send in the prescription, my breastpump was at my front door. They also told me that they say the medela one is back ordered but its not. They order it when they get your paperwork! I also had the choice of the ameda or medela and this was only 4 months ago. I should also say that my friend who i work with had the same experience a few weeks ago!
