Ugh stretch marks..
So, I expected them and they are not as bad as many aspects of pregnancy imo but still very annoying. I bought all the creams and stuff... the palmers stuff in the jar that is very thick and says specifcially for stretch marks. i also have the regular cocoa butter just as a back up. i bought maderma and also use aquafor. i use a combo of all these more than once a day. well they are not going away and coming out more. today by belly is itching like crazy.
what more can i do? buy?
ps- they are stomach ones.

Its my understanding that theres nothing you can do, they are genetic.

Re: Ugh stretch marks..
I read really good things about the Mama Mio products. That's what I'm using but I'm only 11 weeks so I haven't been able to see whether they'll work for me yet. I am prone to stretch marks - already have them on my boobs just from puberty. I'm praying I can avoid them somehow.

Ugh stretch marks..
You can hope they fade well and quickly. That's pretty much it. No cream or lotion or oil is going to change them. I had stretch marks growing up and they faded fast and almost completely.
I didn't get any stretch marks with #1. I had 14 little "stretch dots" that showed up post delivery and faded away very fast. This pregnancy I have stretch marks mostly on one side only.
I'd stop obsessing on trying to get rid of them and just embrace it. The good thing about topical stuff is that it could help relieve itching. But it's not going to stop or change them.

Re: Ugh stretch marks..
Not sure if they are genetic. My Mom had lots of stretch marks. I have a 5 month DS and not 1 stretch mark. I am hoping it stays like that now with this pregnancy. I drank sooo much water during my whole preganancy and i think that had a lot to do with it. I was not very good at applying creams.
It is a small price to pay for the reward at the end

Re: Ugh stretch marks..
yes i have heard that they are genetic too and believe thats true but just thought i could reduce them either before or after they appear. grrr..
also, in the past 2 days, like within the stretch mark itself comes what looks like a little cut like a brighter red little mark that looks like a tiny dot of blood under my skin. sorry for the tmi but is this normal? weird

Re: Ugh stretch marks..
Sorry you're getting these.
I use Bio-Oil 2X a day and have been lucky to not get any stretch marks. I already have them on my thighs (faded now) from many years ago but none on my belly from the pregnancy, so maybe the oil helps...

Re: Ugh stretch marks..
It's not your mom's genes that give them to you. It's your own lol. You either get them or you don't. And sometimes you don't get them the first time and you get them the second. And sometimes you don't get them until after the baby is born.
The description you gave sounds totally normal.
They'll eventually look like this, or even lighter:

Try oil as well, I would use palmers coconut oil (a spray) then Mustela over it. Sounds crazy but it worked . Every morning and night

Re: Ugh stretch marks..
I got them my last 2 weeks of first pregnancy, and they did fade very nicely...dreading what this pregnancy with twins has to bring...damn those genetics!! I tried it all too..Bio Oil, cocoa butter..just helps with the itchiness.
