Lice. Chat Icon 2 of our 3 elementary schools have confirmed cases.

Just as a reminder, they like clean hair, so in addition to ponytails for kids with long hair, some gel or hairspray helps.

After someone on here recommended it (I think it was Barb?) we use Fairy Tales Rosemary Repel shampoo, conditioner & leave in conditioner spray. I even spray their necks. Many children's hair salons & Ulta carry it if you don't want to wait for it to ship.

My biggest school worry! Chat Icon

I put DD's hair up tight, put it in braids, buns, etc. Last week some of the ladies were commenting on how cute her hair looked in braid buns. So I commented that I like to keep it wrapped up so she doesn't end up with lice ha ha. Well the lady at the desk acted highly insulted and said "NOT at this school!" and how she had been there for 15 years and they never have headlice. Uh yeah AT YOUR school lady. My son used to come home with notes about someone having lice in the past!

Harmon sells the spray as well for 9.99! I have to get more, we are out. But I spray her entire head with hairspray every morning!

Oh I was just thinking about this now that my DS is in preschool. I never had lice as a kid and have no idea what to do if he gets it. I want to buy that spray though.

Great information. Didn't know hairspray worked. I guess the only downside is that I would have to wash their hair everyday. Can I use moose as well?

I don't wash my DD's hair everyday. Lice don't like dirty hair. I just brush through the spray. I don't use a ton of it, and I use "Freeze It" which is brushable without leaving flakes.

We used the Fairy Tales stuff once- DD had been exposed to lice but didn't get it, so I'd use it again.
