UGH DH...when will it hit him?!?!?
I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. We have saw the heartbeat and heard it numerous times. We have a name for him all picked out. He finally felt him kick on St. Patrick's Day. I hit the 3rd trimester last week. I've had Braxton Hicks twice and a small scare today that hopefully goes away soon. My countdown says 84 days and 5 hours. We have 12 weeks left. I have told DH ALL of this and I asked "are you phased yet?" And he just keeps responding "nope".
What the hell is he going to show a little more excitement then a pat on my stomach!!!???!!! I don't want him freaking out when it's "babe it's time to go to the hospital" moment but it looks like that might be when it hits him!

He's a guy. I hate using that as an excuse for anything but I just think it's different since your the one living these day to day experiences first hand.
Maybe he's nervous too. I know when I'm nervous I have a hard time showing excitement and actually confuse excitement for anxiety sometimes.

I think that men are more easy going than women sometimes. I'm only 15 weeks but my DH is pretty relaxed about the whole baby thing while I tend to freak out about everything.
I hope you're DH snaps out of it soon. I know how frustrating it can be.

My DH reacted when I first told him about my first pregnancy but otherwise nada. Even when the baby was born which I can't fault him for because I didn't exactly burst into tears like I'd never known love before that moment either...DH later told me he was "emotional on the inside" which is more than I can say for myself! I was just beyond nervous about what I was supposed to do now.
Anyway, I don't fault him for nay of it because I know he's just not an emotional person. Even when I had some scary moments during my devliery, he didn't panic or even look remotely nervous. It is definitely frustrating at times but it balances me out because I tend to be the opposite -- anxious, worried. I think I'd have issues if he were the same.

After my water broke and my doc told me to go to the hospital, DH asked me if this was it - could we be sent home. I was like oh, hunny, no, this is it! I don't think it even hit him then! LOL

For some guys it doesn't hit them until they are holding that baby. It doesn't mean he doesn't care, it's just not a real for him yet - it's still more of a concept.
You are already a mom because all day every day your child is moving around and affecting your life. It's not the same for him yet, but it will be soon!

I think it will hit him once the baby is born! even then sometimes its hard for them to realize until they change their first diaper! don't worry it'll hit him
