Uggghhh-Mothers!!
I HATE when my mother makes me feel guilty and like I am a bad mom.
She tells me my kids don't listen because I work and they go to daycare and then when I am home, I don't have enough time to give them undivided attention! I am trying to teach my children independence too so they are not clinging to me when they are 20!! She thinks independence is bad too-uughhhh!!
I love my kids but don't feel like I need to be on top of them all day long. They CAN watch a movie, play a game by themselves so I can throw in a load of laundry, empty out the dishwasher, get dressed, etc.
Unfortunately I can not be a sahm like she was and I am doing the best I can. She will tell me not to overdo myself and then in the next sentence tell me what needs to be cleaned at my house or how I could forget to do something!!!
Am I the only one who has a mom like this?

sorry you are going through this...I have to admit my mom is very supportive of me and only very gently gives advice but maybe thats because we live in diffrent countries!!
As long as you know you are doing a good job dont worry what anyone else including your mother thinks.
BTW kids dont listen because they are kids and they dont listen to their moms whether the mom is a SAHM or a mom who works outside the home.

My Mother says how I baby my DD too much and entertain her 24/7. She also says that I worry too much about cleaning my house!!!!
My Mom and your Mom should get together

Awww sorry you have to deal with that. My mom is very supportive, but my MIL always makes me feel like Im a bad mother or at least tries to. Always tries to tell me how I should be raising my DD. i learned to ignore it, I just don't have the time for other peoples stupidity.

Thank you. My mom is in another state but I speak to her every week and see her every few months.

I try and ignore too but I guess because she is my mother, it just gets to me all the time.
