Typos!!

Okay, so I admit that I'm a complete grammar snob.

But I have learned that I need to ignore typos in posts and on message boards - they are informal and usually quickly typed. Those don't really bother me.

But in PROFESSIONAL places, I cannot believe the Typos I've been seeing!! Examples:

The Sears "receipt jacket" for the refrigerator we bought last night:

"Sears Price Match Policy does no apply to parts."

The hair salon in my office:

"We will be closed on Wenesdays."

The seafood restaurant we went to a couple weeks ago:

"The Captians special's"

And my favorite...on a Permanent Neon Sign for a local motel:

"Vacansy"


Do they have no one to proof read??? On permanent signs especially???

I really think it's the computer age, no one knows how to spell anymore!

I was at a restaurant last week and they had on the special's board...
Lamb Chops and Patates.

Lisa would die if she saw this. I tell her she's the grammar queen. Have they heard of SPELL CHECK??????Let's NOT be afraid to use it!
