Re: Progesterone level
How are you confirming that you are 2 dpo?
4.99 is low - likely too low to get pregnant/sustaing a pregnancy, but I've also never heard of testing progesterone at 2dpo. It's usually about a week after O - then you'd want it to be around a 10. And progesterone will continue to climb, so a 4.99 at 2DPO could be a 10 at 10DPO.

Re: Progesterone level
i cant imagine that the level would be too high at 2DPO since the corpus luteum are just beginning to secrete progesterone. thats why they don't normally test progesterone that early. i wouldn't worry about the number at this point, but i would question your doctor as to why they tested you so early, and also you probably want to be very sure that you are 2DPO.

I believe the test for today was just to confirm O. According to the message - that number is confirmation. I'm waiting for a call back to find out if I'm supposed to go back for a second test at ~7DPO. I have an extremely short LP and am usually starting AF by 7DPO (Dr. is aware and we're looking into correcting it), which may be another reason why he didn't want to wait. Not sure what happens to Progesterone at the start of AF, but I imagine a dip. So if he waited, he may miss the spike and not know whether I O'd.
if the doctor REALLY wanted to know when you O'ed he could just monitor you with bloodwork and sono. he shouldn't rely on you and a progesterone test for that (esp cause progesterone test would be after the fact, he has all the tools to figure it out and all you have to do is show up at the office).
anyway if you have an LP that short a quick fix is progesterone supplementation which would be the most obvious first course of action to correcting the problem. there are other things you can do for an LP defect but that would be the most obvious.
