Turned 1 and did a 180

DD was always a social butterfly, very easy going and independent.

She just turned 1 on Tuesday, and since last week she has been really really clingy. She will not go to my inlaws when they come over, or anyone for that matter, she covers her face when anyone speaks to her, she will not let DH put her to bed she cries and cries until I go in there and put her to bed.

I know the whole seperation anxiety thing can start now, but how could she have done a complete 180 within like 6 days? She was sick last week and she is teething, could it also be that?

I just don't get how she just changed so much, I figured we would ease into this seperation anxiety thing.

Anyone else deal with this around this age?

It sounds like teething issues.

Not the same but the second dd turned 1 she became a monster. She was crazy, tantrums, screaming, fighting etc. I think a switch pops when they turn 1.

Hang in there. If you think teething give Tylenol. I always know when dd is teething b/c of the way she acts. That's when I give Tylenol or Motrin around the clock for 2 days days and she's usually different baby with the Tylenol.

DS did the same thing when he turned one!! On his birthday he got so shy. Wouldn't go to anyone at all.. Except immediate family members. He cried at the drop of a hat.... It is just a phase and it lasted about 6 weeks. It was like someone flipped a switch in him..

Yeah she is a totally different baby lol I am going away next week for 3 days, my DH is scared lol
