Tuna Melt

I know this is one of those moderation foods and if you are going to eat tuna, it should be the chunk one not the solid type but the cafeteria downstairs is having tuna melts with tomato and I want one. Think its ok? I havent taken one bite of tuna the whole pregnancy.

Re: Tuna Melt

I think albacore has a higher mercury level in it, and I doubt the cafeteria would use that since it is more expensive.

If you really don't eat it that often, I would eat it and enjoy!

Yeah, most delis and cafeterias use the chunk light, which isn't as high in mercury as the albacore. My doctor told me no more than a can a week.

Enjoy!!!

I think you are fine to have 1 tuna melt! Plus, tuna/mercury is one of those things that is cumulative...as opposed to other things we aren't supposed to eat b/c of possible bacteria (like unpastureized cheese).
